The mission of the Health and Human Service facet is to promote
and facilitate programs that support the maintenance of good
health and the elimination of chronic health disparities in
communities of color through education, health advocacy and
optimal utilization of health resources.   Our areas of emphasis are
cardiovascular disease, breast cancer, obesity, mental health, HIV
and organ, blood and tissue donation.  Monthly Health Moments
are presented to chapter members on these areas of interest to
keep members abreast of current research and trends.  The
Pittsburgh Chapter partners with the: American Heart Association
for the Power of Laughter Health Workshop and Luncheon;
CORE’s MOTTEP Program to distribute education material to local
churches; participates in the AHA Heart Walk and Race for the
Cure as well as partnering with the Gateway Medical Society’s
Gateway to Wellness Symposium.
